Power skating

So, what is it exactly? Here's the short answer:
Power skating is the technique of moving one's body on the ice in the most efficient manner possible, while exerting a minimal amount of effort.

Proper body control and positioning is integral to the correct development of the form and techniques demanded by today's highly-skilled game of hockey. In heated action, players have so little time to be concerned with how they react on their skates to unexpected situations or body checks. Over time, it's been demonstrated that the best players are often the best skaters and yet, skating remains the most neglected factor of the game.

Learning from a figure skating coach, whose skating drills are set up in a unique style, designed to work with hockey principles, allows the player to quickly learn and develop the correct skating techniques, essential to his/her success in the game.

Drills are necessary to reach full potential

Because skating is such a vital skill, it's important for the power skating coach to develop an on-ice programme that is stimulating. Our power skating programme is designed to give the player the confidence and skills necessary to develop his/her skating ability to its fullest potential. Drills are designed for all levels of ability and become more difficult as the skater advances.
